Amanda combines her love for fitness and passion for helping others, to better their lives. As both a group fitness instructor and social worker for over 15 years, she holds several fitness and training certifications in addition to Dual Masters Degrees in Social Work and Education. In both of her careers, Amanda believes that inspiring self-determination in each individual is the key to creating a healthy mind, body, and spirit. Because of her passion and desire to give back to her community, she currently leads a 9-month Fitness Instructor Training program through Shape Up NYC, offering both education and practical skills to those wanting to become group fitness instructors. Her passion to mentor others has attracted a major fitness clothing line’s attention, and they have partnered with her program to support bringing health and wellness to the New York City community.
Currently working as a group fitness instructor for Equinox Fitness clubs and Z Club NY, she teaches many formats including Tabata, Bootcamp, and Zumba, as well as many Equinox branded-formats. She held a position in group fitness management for two New York City Equinox locations, and previously managed and directed talent for New York Sports Clubs Connecticut Region.
Rated #7 on RATEYOURBURN.COM‘s 15 Best Zumba Instructors of 2012, she has been featured in Time.com as an expert in H.I.I.T. training and has consulted with fitness companies such as Reebok. Currently, she is a brand ambassador for Lululemon Athletica. Amanda has been a master presenter.
